3 Things I’d Like To Achieve By The End of The Year

We are about a month and some change away from 2019. Doesn’t that just SOUND crazy? I hate to say it, but this year flew by. I have been in the process of figuring out what I’m even doing haha. So when I started looking back at 2018 I kind of realized it was nothing for me to really see growth on because I hadn’t set myself any goals to reach for. Which of course is super disappointing now, but there’s no better time to start reaching for a goal than the present. SO I decides to make a list of 3 things to achieve before 2019.

  1. Consistently drink 1 gallon of water a day- I have been doing well with this for the past month. So in order to keep it a part of my routine I want to be more consistent with drinking the full gallon and not stopping when I’m almost to my goal.
  2. Revamp my YouTube banner and intro- I’ve really been discouraged the past year with my content in general. I have slumps that last months, but sometimes I do have awesome post ideas that still end up being a flop. 2019 is the year I want to use to see if being a content creator is even really for me. But before I do that I need to revamp my sites and really put my best foot forward consistently.
  3. Set 3 personal goals for 2019- As you guys know, I’m officially a wife. Now while that hasn’t changed anything as far as my at home life and relationships it made me think about my personal growth. This new chapter is so cool and awesome. The biggest advice I’ve been given more recently is that even though marriage made us “one” I still need to focus on myself and growth as an individual. I want to be sure to set goals that help me be a better me inside and out.

So these are my 3 goals I want to achieve before this year is out. Will I achieve all of my goals? You’ll have to catch me in an update post to see !

What are some things you want to get done before 2019? Let me know in the comments below!

The Final Update: Our Wedding Details

I can hardly contain my excitement as I type this! This is the final post of wedding updates. The days have seemed to pass so slow, but now that we are in the final stretch its like it was here in no time. As you’re reading this, my fiance and I are boarding the plane to….. LAS VEGAS! Yes, we are going to get married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Like I’ve been trying to get across for a while, we are everything BUT traditional. Backstory? A few years ago when we were kind of discussing the topic of marriage, we both decided that we thought it would be the coolest thing to get married in Vegas. And I’m not talking your typical courthouse marriage ceremony, or fancy hotel wedding ceremony. I’m talking drive thru, Elvis as the minister, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, type of “ceremony”.

We will arrive in Vegas around 11 am. From the airport, we will be checking into our room at Encore at the Wynn Las Vegas. We picked this room and hotel in particular for its luxurious amenities and room style which there will be a review of on my YouTube channel here. We took our time and combed through some of the most popular and highest rated rooms before we came to our decision. While there we will relax and prepare to change into our wedding attire and later head out to pick up our marriage licence. The cool thing about Vegas is that their marriage bureau stays open till 12 am! So those movies where people just up and get married…. are totally TRUE!

At about 5 pm we will be wed at the Sweetheart Wedding Chapel & Bridal Boutique. We loved their intimate setting, and it made better sense since it was going to just be the two of us. We opted for their sign and go package which is literally what it sounds like. We will be signing our licence with a minister, have our wedding photo session, and then off to our first dinner as a married couple! My fiance made the reservations himself and I BEGGED to not be involved because I’d like a surprise for the restaurant choice.

The night before our wedding day, we will have our own small ceremony to read our handwritten vows to one another and to just bask in the fact that we will be getting married in a few hours.

To keep our family and friends updated on our special day we created our own wedding website on Honeyfund. Our website gives our fam and friends the opportunity to not only be updated by us but gives them options to send gifts. We have been living together for 3 years and have accumulated all of our necessities so we were asking for monetary gift options or gift cards. If you’d like to contribute or even sign our wedding guestbook, feel free to visit our personalized sight HERE!

We will be vlogging our entire trip and of course giving BTS of traveling and other activities we have planned, so please be sure to follow me on social media and of course subscribe to my YouTube channel HERE.

Thank you all so much for your support and encouragement. I cant wait for this new chapter in our lives, and I can’t wait to share that chapter with you guys as well!

Love always

5 Bad Pieces of Advice I’ve Gotten Since Being Engaged and My Thoughts on Them

I tweeted about how I had gotten some pretty wild advice since I have been engaged and the responses were super unanimous that I NEEDED to blog about it! SO here we are! Today I’m sharing with you all the 5 WORST bits of advice I’ve gotten since being engaged. I also thought I’d give you all a little insight of how I took this advice as well!

  1. “Enjoy yourself while you’re still technically single” – I mean what exactly does this even mean??? I’m in a committed relationship LOL what is it expected that I “enjoy” before we head down the aisle?
  2. “Never speak negatively about your husband” – This is one that can low key be great advice as well, but it all comes down to the context of how its given. I would absolutely NEVER speak down on Reece to just whoever. BUT, I think it is very important to be an open book to your spouse. I let him know when I feel a way about him, and he doesn’t hesitate to let me know about myself. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  3. “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”- Honestly do I need to elaborate? Who recommends SPACE to a married couple? Separation in relationships is hard no matter the reason. and I’m not talking about “Me time” This lady recommended me getting a hotel room to myself once a month for space away from my husband like…. whattttt???
  4. ” Marriage will be easy if you really love each other”- First of all sis…. relationships in general are not easy. Two people coming together as one will NOT be easy. Just how you may have disagreements in your relationship you’ll have them in marriage. This personally made me raise a brow cause sis I wouldn’t dare equate the love in my relationship to the disagreements. You’ll disagree, talk about it, forgive if you must, and move on. I never let our disagreements change my mind about how much Reece loves me… that’s silly talk.
  5. “Always put the kids first” – At first glance i know ya’ll are probably like “Oh, see now you lost me” But hear me out. I LOVE my kids. I will always sacrifice when I have to and do what is best for them. But when they turn whatever age, and move out who’s left? I’m just saying…. I plan to prioritize my marriage. The kids for one, learn their life lessons from watching their first teachers, Reece and I. In order to be of good example what better way to show them love, respect, loyalty, how to communicate, how to solve problems and more than showing them though our interactions with each other!

Overall, I’ve actually gotten so much love and great advice from married couples. I’ll  share the good advice after we are married.

What is the worst marriage or relationship advice you’ve ever gotten?

The Halloween Tag

With Halloween literally around the corner, I thought what better post to work up than the Halloween tag!

Lets hop in!

  1. Favorite horror or Halloween themed song?

The Michael Myers theme is my absolute fave!

2. Have you ever played with a Ouji board?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

3. Are you superstitious?

Not at all.

4. If you were dared to spend the night in a “haunted house” would you?

I probably would… if I wasn’t the only one staying LOL

5. Would you ever go to a graveyard at night?

Yup, there’s literally nothing scary about cemeteries to me

6. Would you rather go to a Halloween party or go trick or treating?

I’d much rather be trick or treating collecting candy with my little ones

7. Do you ever have to watch something happy after watching a horror movie so you can go to sleep?

Occasionally I do but It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a movie that frightening!

8. Watching scary movies, are you the person yelling at the characters, the person with their eyes covered the whole time or the person who falls asleep?

I’m for sure the person talking to the screen trying to figure out the movie as it plays out with the characters.

9. Do you scare easily?

Not really, but I can be kinda jumpy if I’m over thinking

10. If you could only wear one Halloween costume for the rest of your life, what would you be?

Id probably be a vampire LOL they are my favorite “scary” creatures

11. Are you the one who gets scared or the one who does the scaring?

I’m probably the one who gets scared lol

12. In a zombie apocalypse what would be your weapon of choice?

A gun for sure if i was an accurate shot! But maybe a bat?

These tags are always so much fun to do and share! What are some spooky things you’re interested in? Let me know below!

2018 Fall Nail Polish Trends Ft. Ella + Mila Vegan + cruelty free Nail Polish

Mothers Day came with a huge surprise this past year. I won a giveaway from one of my fave cruelty free nail polish companies, Ella + Mila . Ella + Mila have a huge variety of nail polish, lip gloss and now liquid lipsticks in all shades. You can see my unboxing here, on my YouTube channel.

Out of all the shades that I received, the main ones that caught my attention were Holiday fling, berry much in love, and honeymoon bliss. Fun fact, Honeymoon bliss will be my wedding nail polish shade!

For my manicure I decided to stick to one of the popular trends of having a different pattern on both hands. I used the shades Holiday fling and berry much in love to achieve my first fall themed berry manicure. I used berry much in love as the accent shade to highlight the pattern difference between both hands. I loved how berry much in love pulls the purples and pinks and brings the colors together. These shades worked perfectly to transition my nails into fall!

Ella and Mila are affordable and eco friendly! My favorite product has to be their soy nail polish remember, their polishes as well as their glosses! You can find Ella and Mila products in over 500 Targets nationwide! Or here at www.ellamila.com.

How are you transitioning your nails into fall? What are your favorite fall shades for this year?

Why I Polish My Sons Nails and Could Care Less About Peoples Thoughts About It

Every moms dream when they have a daughter is cute dress-ups and polishing nails and tea parties. Well, at least those were my dreams when I was pregnant with my daughter over 6 years ago. Fast forward to today, having a son and daughter, I found that my daughter and I’s nail dates are impossible to have without Nugget wanting to join in too. I started painting my sons nails when he was about 1 1/2. The backlash I received from family and complete strangers was CRAZY! Who knew simply putting polish on my own kids nails could be so controversial.

So today I’m gonna share exactly why I polish my sons nails, and why I honestly DGAF about any ones opinions on it.

Anyone with more than one kid will tell you, it’s so important to spend one on one time with your kids. Kay and I,  have always spent one on one time at Nuggets nap time and when we’re just able to have a girls day while my Fiance has boys day with our son. But during the day there are sometimes when we have a few down minutes we find something to do just the two of us. This was typically when Kay would grab her polish bag and we’d just polish our nails and hang out. With Nugget on the loose it wasn’t as easy. He of course wanted to be involved. He’d come over and be so excited about the “pretty colors” as he calls them. Then one day he asked if I could do his as well. And to me I found it harmless so I polished his toes for the very first time. He picked out a dark purple polish and was ecstatic!

That entire week he was so proud of his toes! He picked out his sandals and showed them off to any and everyone who would look! Most of the responses were honestly terrible. He was so happy to have his toes polished in a color he knew and could tell you exactly what color he was wearing and everything. And, people would literally look at me with such disgust. I never understood why. Then, someone basically just said it.

I shouldn’t be painting my sons nails because hes a boy.

For me, that was the very last thing on my mind. His happiness was all I thought about that day I polished his nails. He was so proud to pick out his color and wait to dry… my last thought was that as a boy I shouldn’t polish his nails.

So now when he asks, I’m even more proud to polish his nails. I hate that society is so warped that I can’t simply do something that makes my son happy just because he’ll be viewed as gay or that I’m actively “turning him gay” simply by polishing his nails. To be extremely clear, I LOVE MY KIDS. No matter what their sexual orientations turn out to be or whatever, I’ll love and support them regardless. In no way does polishing my sons nails determine who he will be in the future and the fact others really think that….is mind boggling.

Nail polish will wear off, be removed, or be completely forgotten about. There is no permanent impact from me polishing his nails. The way his face lights up when he brings me a polish or when he has polish on his toes is way more important to me than peoples rude opinion based on something so temporary.

What are some things you’ve been judged about as a parent?

September Review

Happy October my loves! I wanted to start back blogging and get back to creating so I thought that a perfect post to start back with is a mini glimpse into the past months highs and lows.

To kick the month off the kids got to spend some time at our local fair with my cousin! Love the smiles after face paint fun.

This was also the big kick off before our first day of school and homeschooling! I have a blog of our first week here, and a vlog of our first day here on my YouTube channel.

We enjoyed a few days of the great transitional weather.

We celebrated my aunt Rozs’ retirement with the fam.

September was also very emotional for me, having recently lost my dad its been a difficult month as far as my concentration and just overall self care. I’m working on getting back into my routines and new norm.

As far as wedding plans, you can read my most recent update here. We have everything set for the big day and just have to still purchase some little last minute details.

Overall September was awesome. There were so many memorable fun moments, as well as raw and emotion filled days, but over all I still feel blessed to have this amazing life with my loved ones. The upcoming month brings my moms birthday, fun fall activities for the kids, as well as the final countdown to our wedding. The best is yet to come!
